There is one thing I got to make justice for Riverdale: it's mentioned while reacting to the first bits of Candy Store that they show highschoolers having sex but can't say words like dick. This is far from being true, it's even the other way around. At least in the early seasons, they imply it, of course, cause it wouldn't make sense to ignore it. Teenagers have sex, thats not taboo nor a lie so of course they don't act like they shouldn't put that in the show. But apart from hotter make-outs, they only show after cuddles in sheets, nothing else. And they do use heavier language although I don't remember ever hearing something like f-word or even shit, if I'm being honest. Reason why they change the lyrics: 1- to fit the characters the best it can (although I do admit they slacked on Beautiful) and 2- because they do about 40 minute episodes and they only dedicate one episode to the highschool musical project in each season but they still have a story to tell and continue (wouldn't make the least sense to stop all the threads unraveling in the series just for a musical episode where the characters forget everything going on) so they have to make changes and even cut things going on in the series short for the sake of time Oh and btw: they have the full version of each song they used on Spotify, only with the lyric changes to fit the character singing it

Would love a bit more raw and grit in the vocals but the real kicker for me is taking out the chorus insults in Beautiful- that really makes the song kick!

I would say that even though it’s a very compressed and badly portrayed side of the musical, it still was many people first foray into the musical world and I, as one of those people is in a strange way very thankful to riverdale for that

Okay so umm I have a story so when my mother moved into my mom‘s boyfriend’s house, we had to find a new theater for me because I’ve been doing theater since I was five and one of my mother students recommended this group to us and the show is Charlie and the chocolate factory great show I loved working with the people the people were so nice and I really appreciated their support and everything so that the day of the show comes so opening night perfectly fine. My mother only showed up and then closing night. My father and his wife and two daughters came to see it and so did my best friends spoil alert at the end of sixth grade year which is when this story took place, they dumped my best friend kind of dumped me so either way so back to closing night I come to go see my friends and my mother and the teachers that came to because my favorite art teacher came my mother and my father are both teachers and I tell them thank you for coming you know like the usual stuff told me all about what the enjoyed what was their favorite scene you know stuff like that I said I was going to say stuff to my father right after I got dressed because I it was really hot and I was literally wearing leggings with a long sleeve shirt with a jacket on top and a hot mic pack by the way, the show was like an hour and I was wearing that on my back and my back was so sweaty so I’m like I’m gonna go get changed into my shorts and shirt and by the way this is winter so yay so I make my way downstairs to see my father and my stepmother leaving without me they said that I was selfish and a complete a hole for not saying anything to them and basically telling them that they’re not important which I never said and never implied. I was just really hot. Either way I ended up having to stay the night at their house, and it was not really fun. I got grounded for a day because I apparently told them that they don’t matter. Apparently I looked at them and some certain way which I do not look at them. I literally said I’m gonna go change and then I’ll be right back and, do my thing because you know it was really hot and the theater is hot. Thank you for listening. Goodbye.

My problem with your ranking is with Les Mis. No matter how ell it might have been shot, the way the actors were treated and performed/were forced to perform to suit the "live vocals" was horrific. In all honesty, it should be in "vocal damage" tier because that could have and almost did happen due to the working conditions and choices made. If you want evidence, watch UA-camr Sideways video on Les Mis to understand.

So I was premiering a musical revival and my friend/ coworker was fed up with my understudy *as was I* she wasn’t treating it like a job. During the premiere while she wasn’t on stage she was bothering the cast, like making comments about unrelated things, and getting in the way of workers. I wasn’t to bothered, but then my friend/coworker had said that she was going to file a complaint with our director. The day after she did, our director didn’t do anything, so then my friend said that she was going to forge emails to get *my* understudy fired, I disagreed and she eventually came around, during our week off after the premiere she stayed with the group and I went to go join a tour of another musical and brought along some other cast members, during this my friend went behind my back with another costar and forged the emails, my understudy almost got fired before I had stood up for her, in the long run my “friend” got fired. Now the majority of the cast I’m not friends with won’t talk to me and are acting as if I’m the a-hole, am I

I mean I can think of a story… So I got into theatre very heavily in the past few years and I always audition for the school musicals with my friends. I started out with only minor roles and one day got a main cast member in grease, while my friends got ensemble. Thus, I began to spend significantly more time with the other cast members, some of which I became very very close with. Obviously i still interacted with my friends inside and out of the stage setting but particularly gravitated towards the main cast friends I had made during rehearsals, especially seeing as my time with them before the end of the year was limited. However, I could sense my friends getting jealous/annoyed and had to sacrifice time I had with a cast member who had helped me significantly with my anxiety and was soon to leave for college to make sure my other friends felt included - a decision that I honestly regret right now as I missed him for ages after the show ended and still do even now. Moreover, I don’t think staying in my comfort zone with my other friends helped with my increasing social anxiety at the time, something that gradually got better the more time i spent with the main cast members, as a pose to these other friends. When the musical was over I thought I may not be put in that type of awkward choosing friends situation again but I have once again been called back twice for the lead in another musical while my friends have not and I can sense them getting bitter again. But if I get the lead, to be honest, I would rather have no regrets this year and would rather foster my friendships with my costars than my friends that I see every day regardless of theatre productions. So am I the asswhole for regretting spending time with my friends as a pose to the main cast, making them feel jealous and hoping to step away from them a little during the upcoming production if I get a lead role?
